Acne Scars

I had acne as a teenager and had to take Accutane 3 times until my acne was controlled. I was left with acne scars on my cheeks and chin and I was always self-conscious about them. I did not want to have dermabrasion because I could not take 3 weeks off work for my skin to heal. Last year, I heard about Fraxel laser treatments for acne scarring and asked my dermatologist about it. He referred me to Dr. Gidon who was one of the first doctors in Toronto doing the Fraxel treatments. I visited Dr. Gidon who felt that I would have a good improvement with my acne scars. I had 5 Fraxel laser treatments and my scars are so much better that I can hardly see them anymore. I was a bit red for a few days after the Fraxel laser, but I could cover it with make-up and I didn't take any time off work. I am so thrilled that I had the Fraxel treatments. I am not embarrassed by my complexion anymore. I referred two of my friends to Dr. Gidon for their acne scarring and they are starting to see improvement in their scarring after only 2 Fraxel treatments. We think Fraxel laser treatments are fabulous and would recommend Fraxel to anyone who feels self-conscious about their acne scarring.

Adult Acne

I am 27 years old and had a perfect complexion until I was 22. I developed adult acne at that time and had treatment, but was left with some acne scarring on my chin. I wore make-up all the time to try and cover up the scarring. Most people would not notice it, but the acne scarring really bothered me so I decided to have Fraxel laser treatments. After the first treatment, I noticed an amazing improvement but decided to have a second treatment. Now even I can barely see any scars and my skin looks so much smoother. I don't need to wear make-up any more and now people compliment me on how great my skin looks. Acne Scarring

Sun Damage

I loved sitting in the sun when I was younger. We didn't know anything about the harmful rays of the sun then and even used baby oil and reflectors to tan. I always burned first and recently, I have begun to develop brown spots and sun damaged, rough spots on my face. I saw Dr. Gidon who analyzed my skin and explained that I had quite a bit of sun damage for a 42 year old. She first treated my face with Levulan photodynamic therapy to reverse the sun damage, and I then had 3 Fraxel laser treatments to fade my brown spots. My skin is so much smoother and brighter now that the brown spots have faded. I now use sunscreen every day and the antiaging products that Dr. Gidon gave me. I love the look and feel of my skin now and will continue with maintenance treatments to keep my skin glowing.

Age Spots

I have been golfing for 35 years. I always wore a glove on my right hand and of course, I developed brown spots and thin, wrinkled skin on my left hand. I was very self-conscious that the brown spots made me look older. My right hand did not have any brown sun spots and the skin was smooth and hardly had any wrinkles. Dr. Gidon told me about Fraxel laser treatments that would fade my brown spots and improve the wrinkles. I had 5 Fraxel treatments on my left hand and decided to have 2 treatments on my right hand as well. Now both of my hands look smooth and clear and I couldn't be happier with the results. I am no longer ashamed of my hands and can wear my pretty rings and bracelets. I now wear gloves on both hands when I golf and I wear sunscreen all the time to prevent more brown spots and wrinkles.

Sun Damage

I spent a lot of time in the sun when I was younger. We had a cottage and vacationed in Florida every winter. I had freckles all my life, but when I was 23, I started to notice fine lines developing around my eyes. By the time I was 30, I also had brown sun spots on my face and chest. I felt I was too young to have brown age spots and wrinkles so I went to Dr. Gidon. She advised me to wear sunscreen every day and to limit the amount of time I spent in the sun. I had some Botox treatments to smooth the wrinkles around my eyes and then I had Fraxel laser treatments on my face and chest. My skin is so much smoother and brighter now. The brown spots and freckles have faded and the wrinkles around my eyes are gone. My friends say that I look better now than I did when I was 25. I loved the Botox wrinkle treatment and will continue with it when it wears off in about 4 months. I would recommend the Fraxel laser treatments to anyone. My face and chest are so much smoother and clearer. The brown spots and even the freckles faded. I am so happy with the results and now protect my skin every day.

Brown Spots

I grew up in California and was a lifeguard during my teens. We didn't have sunscreen back then so I would sunburn every summer and then tan. I developed my first skin cancer on my forehead when I was 40. It was a basal cell and then I had another one removed from my cheek 5 years later. I also had large brown spots on my forehead and cheeks. I began to wear sunscreen and had my skin checked regularly. When I was 50, I moved to Toronto and my new doctor referred me to Dr. Gidon to have my skin checked. Dr. Gidon analyzed my skin and found some precancerous spots on my forehead and explained the treatments that were available. I decided to have Levulan photodynamic therapy and then Fraxel laser treatments. My skin was red for a few days after the treatments, but not as bad as the sunburns I used to have. After 5 Fraxel treatments, my sun damaged skin was so much smoother. The brown spots on my forehead and cheeks faded. As a bonus, the lines and wrinkles on my face improved as well. I love the results from the Fraxel laser treatments and plan on one Fraxel treatment a year to keep my skin looking radiant.

Stretch Marks

I am 35 years old and I have had 3 pregnancies. The skin on my tummy was only a little loose and wrinkly, but I did not like the stretch marks. I exercised regularly and was at my ideal body weight but still had a fat pouch below my navel that I just couldn't get rid of. I was afraid to have a tummy tuck. When I saw Dr. Gidon, she suggested Thermage to tighten the wrinkly skin, UltraShape to melt the fat pouch, and Fraxel laser treatments to fade the stretch marks. There was no recovery time and I could carry on with my usual routine. After 6 months of treatments, my tummy is flatter, firmer and the stretch marks are hardly noticeable. I can wear a bikini again and my husband thinks I look great. I love the results of my treatments. I plan to have Fraxel laser treatments on my face soon to help improve the sun damage and brown spots, and make my complexion smoother. I would highly recommend these treatments to anyone.

Saggy Skin on the Neck

Every time I looked in the mirror, all I saw was my ugly neck. The skin was saggy and wrinkly and I felt that my neck made me look older. I always wore turtlenecks to hide my neck. I was afraid to have surgery so I went to Dr. Gidon. She suggested Thermage to firm the skin and Botox injections to soften the lines around the front of my neck. The wrinkle treatment she suggested was with the Fraxel laser and I had 5 Fraxel treatments. It took 6 months to see the full result of my treatments, but I am thrilled with the results. There was no recovery time with the Thermage and Botox, and I only had a little redness on my neck for a few days after the Fraxel treatments. My neck is so much smoother and tighter now. I look 10 years younger and I don't have to wear turtlenecks anymore. I would recommend these treatments to anyone who wants smoother, tighter skin.

Wrinkles Around the Mouth

I smoked when I was younger and over the years, I developed wrinkles above my mouth. I had some wrinkles on my face, but the wrinkling around my mouth bothered me the most. I had a friend who had the resurfacing wrinkle treatment around her mouth a few years ago and she was left with white discolouration around her lips. I was afraid to have that wrinkle treatment and when I saw Dr. Gidon, she recommended Fraxel laser treatments. She explained that only parts of the skin are treated each time with the Fraxel and there is no white scarring left. I decided to go ahead with the treatments and was very happy with the results. A numbing cream was applied for an hour before the treatment, so I was comfortable, and the area above my mouth was slightly pink for a few days. The wrinkles are much smoother now and Dr. Gidon suggested Botox injections to prevent the wrinkles from becoming deeper again. I was so pleased with the Fraxel laser treatment results, that I am now having Fraxel treatments for the rest of my face too.

Scar Revision

I had a skin cancer removed from my nose 10 years ago. The scar ran down the length of my nose and involved my cheek as well. The scar was raised in some areas and depressed in others. I had read that the Fraxel laser helped improve acne scarring so I went to Dr. Gidon to see if it would help my scar also. Dr. Gidon felt that I would have an improvement in my scar, and since I also had some brown spots on my face, she suggested treating my whole face with the Fraxel laser. I was amazed at the results. The raised part of my scar flattened and the depressed areas evened out. The scar is hardly noticeable now. My brown spots have faded and my entire face is smoother and the skin is glowing. Everyone keeps asking me if I have had a face lift since my skin looks so much brighter. I tell them it was the Fraxel laser. I am just thrilled with the results.

Enlarged Pores

The large pores on my nose always bothered me. My girlfriend read about Fraxel laser treatments at Dr. Gidon's office and I went to see her. Dr. Gidon explained that I would always have pores on my nose but the Fraxel laser would help them look smaller. I decided to go ahead and had 3 treatments. My pores are definitely smaller and my nose is not as oily as it used to be. I also had a brown spot on my nose and it disappeared. I think the Fraxel laser treatments were great.

Acne Scarring

Brown Spots

I loved the look of a tan and was out in the sun whenever possible. I even went to tanning salons in the winter. By the time I was 35, I had brown spots from the sun and rough spots of sun damage on my face, chest, and hands. I had wrinkles and looked at least 10 years older. I had light chemical peels and microdermabrasion which helped a little and then my friend suggested that I book an appointment at Dr. Gidon's clinic. She explained that I did have quite a lot of sun damage for my age and I should start protecting my skin from the sun and stop going to the tanning salons. I had three treatments with photodynamic therapy and intense pulsed light for the sun damage on my face. The results were good and my face was smoother, clearer and the fine wrinkles faded. The freckles and brown spots were lighter and I was happy with the results. The following year, Dr. Gidon had the Fraxel laser in her office and suggested that I have a few Fraxel treatments to stimulate more collagen, smooth my skin and fade any remaining brown spots. After the first treatment, I could tell that the Fraxel laser was a stronger treatment than the intense pulsed light. I was red for 2 days and then had mild peeling, but afterwards, my skin felt so smooth. I had 3 treatments and my skin texture is amazing, the brown spots have faded and my whole complexion is more radiant. I realize that I will need a Fraxel laser treatment once or twice a year. I now protect my skin from the sun and love the way my skin looks and feels. I am so happy with the results of the Fraxel treatment.

Acne Scarring on the Cheeks

I had a little bit of acne scarring on my cheeks but didn't like it. I went to see Dr. Gidon for Fraxel laser treatments and have had 2 treatments so far. I can already see that my acne scarring is smoother and the chickenpox scars that I had on my forehead are also fading. My wedding is in 2 months and I will be able to have 1 more Fraxel treatment before the wedding. I am so happy that my acne scarring is so much better. My fiancé is always complimenting me on my complexion and I know my skin will look great for my wedding photos. I am very grateful to Dr. Gidon for helping me look my best for my special day.

Acne Scarring on the Forehead

My boyfriend had acne scarring on his forehead. I heard about Fraxel laser treatments and we went to see Dr. Gidon. My boyfriend decided to go ahead with the Fraxel treatment and we noticed a big improvement in his acne scarring even after the first treatment. After 4 treatments, his acne scarring looked so much better and Dr. Gidon recommended that he wait a few months since the scarring would probably improve even more with time. Brown Blotchy Spots

My husband and I have golfed for over 25 years. For the last 10 years, I have been wearing sunscreen but I had ugly brown blotches on my hands and sun damaged spots on my face from years of sun exposure. My husband only started wearing sunscreen a few years ago after he had a skin cancer removed from his nose, but he had brown spots on his face as well. We have had liquid nitrogen treatments over the years and had some white spots left and then we both tried Levulan photodynamic treatments which made our skin much smoother. Last year when we visited Dr. Gidon, she told us about Fraxel laser treatments that would help our sun damage, fade the brown spots, and it was also a wrinkle treatment. I decided to treat the brown spots on my hands with the Fraxel laser and my husband treated his face. After my third Fraxel laser treatment, the brown spots faded and my hands looked smoother, less wrinkly, and much younger. My husband had 5 Fraxel laser treatments on his face and his brown spots faded as well. The white spots from liquid nitrogen blended in and could barely be noticed. His skin looked so smooth and clear and even the scar on his nose from his skin cancer surgery faded. I have been so impressed with the results from the Fraxel laser that I will soon start treatments on my face for the brown spots and sun damage so I can look as good as my husband.
